Description

A two-day easy to moderate guided walking event on the beautiful beaches and sand dunes around Enniscrone and up to the second highest point of the Ox Mountains, at Annatoran.

Itinerary

Evening prior : Arrival, dinner, orientation, visit a local pub.

Day One : Walk the vast strand at Enniscrone, looking out over Killala Bay and Bartragh Island, with the possibility of spotting Common Seal on the many sand bars of the River Moy Estuary. This is an easy 4-hour walk.

Day Two : Tackle the 512 m high Annatoran, the second highest peak of the lovely Ox Mountains. Enjoy spectacular views out over the North Atlantic towards Donegal, with Easky Lough below. This is a moderate 5-hour hillclimb. Departure after walk.

• Waterproofs - You will need good hiking gear (trousers and jacket) and ankle high hiking boots.
• Clothing - Bring a change of clothing and footwear for each day. No jeans, denims, ponchos or umbrellas on walks please.
